Mindfulness Programme Conducted for University Academic and Non-Academic Officers
A mindfulness programme for the academic staff and non-academic officers of the University was successfully conducted on 21 August 2026 at the Atapi Satimat Meditation Center, Galapitamada. The programme was conducted with the aim of promoting mindfulness, mental well-being, and a balanced approach to professional and personal life among university officers.
The resource person for the programme was Ven. Usgoda Dhammagaru Thero (MPhil), who is currently based at the Los Angeles Buddhist Vihara, California, USA. He has extensive academic and professional experience, having served as an Assistant Editor of the Sinhala Encyclopaedia and as a former Lecturer at Sariputta National College of Education, Nittambuwa.
The programme was well received by both academic staff and non-academic officers, who actively participated in the activities and benefited from the guidance and experience of the resource person.
