“Sevārchanopahāra”
A Tribute in Appreciation of Service to Most Venerable Professor Neluwe Sumanawansa Anunayaka Thero

In recognition of the immense service rendered by Most Venerable Professor Neluwe Sumanawansa Nayaka Thero to the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, the Nation, and the Buddhist education, an appreciation and retirement felicitation ceremony titled “Sevārchanopahāra” (A Tribute in Appreciation of Service) was held on 2 July 2026 organized by the lecturer’s union of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka.

During his distinguished career at the University, Ven. Professor Neluwe Sumanawansa served as Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Professor in the Department of Sanskrit, and later as Dean of the Faculty of Language Studies. He also served the University with distinction as the Vice Chancellor (performance of the duties).

The ceremony was attended by Most Venerable Chair Professor Homagama Dhammananda Nayaka Thero, the Vice Chancellor of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, the Deans of the Faculties, members of the academic staff, and the non-academic staff.

We sincerely pray that Most Venerable Professor Neluwe Sumanawansa Nayaka Thero may enjoy a blessed retirement filled with good health, happiness, and peace.
