International Sanskrit Online Symposium on Sanskrit in the Modern Age 2026

Broadening Horizons: Integrating Sanskrit Knowledge into Contemporary Academia

Rationale

Sanskrit, as one of the world’s oldest and most sophisticated languages, embodies a vast repository of knowledge in linguistics, philosophy, poetics, science, and cultural traditions. Yet, its integration into modern academic discourse remains limited. This conference seeks to bridge the gap between traditional Sanskrit scholarship and contemporary academic frameworks, highlighting how Sanskrit knowledge can enrich pedagogy, research, and interdisciplinary studies.

Objectives

  • To explore innovative ways of integrating Sanskrit knowledge into modern curricula.
  • To examine the relevance of Sanskrit in global academic discourse.
  • To encourage interdisciplinary dialogue between Sanskrit studies and fields such as linguistics, philosophy, digital humanities, and cultural studies.
  • To strengthen collaborations among scholars, educators, and institutions for advancing Sanskrit pedagogy.
