Bangladesh Buddhist Delegation Meets the Ven. Vice Chancellor of BPU; Discusses Academic Cooperation and Tripitaka Donation
A delegation from Bangladesh, comprising Venerable Sumangala Maha Thero, Financial Secretary of the Buddhist Bhikkhu Maha Sabha of Bangladesh, and Venerable Bodhi Sri Thero, Assistant Secretary of the Young Buddhist Bhikkhu Association of Bangladesh, paid a courtesy visit to the Most Venerable, Chair Professor Homagama Dhammananda Thera.
The meeting was also attended by Venerable Kandegama Deepavansalankara Thero, Head of the Department of Pali.
During the meeting, the Bangladeshi delegation symbolically presented several books to mark the planned donation of the Tripitaka in Bangla script. The discussions also focused on strengthening academic and religious cooperation between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, including a proposal to establish foreign institutes of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka in Dhaka and Chattogram.
