“Ayubhojana” – Traditional Sri Lankan Food Exhibition 2026
The Department of Sinhala organized the “Ayubhojana” Traditional Sri Lankan Food Exhibition on 20 October 2026 at the University Main Cafeteria. The exhibition was organized to enhance students’ extracurricular engagement and soft skills in line with the course units Sinhala Folklore Studies and Sinhala Culture included in the Sinhala curriculum.
The exhibition aimed to highlight the regional diversity, richness, and uniqueness of Sri Lanka’s traditional food culture while providing students with an opportunity to identify and learn about rare traditional food items that are gradually disappearing from contemporary society. It also sought to develop students’ self-motivation, leadership, and personality through continuous learning, while strengthening their other essential competencies and soft skills.
