Senior Professor Ven. Gallelle Sumanasiri Thero awarded the Aggamahāsaddhammajotikadhaja
BPU is proud to announce that Senior Prof. Gallelle Sumanasiri Thero of the Department of Religious Studies and Comparative Philosophy, Faculty of Buddhist Studies and the former Vice-Chancellor of Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka has been awarded the Aggamahāsaddhammajotikadhaja title from Government of Myanmar on the recommendation of Sitagu Sayadawgyi of Myanmar. This honorable state religious title is bestowed to leading scholarly eminent Buddhist monks. One of Sitagu Sayadawgyi's views is to further deepen and develop the cultural and religious relationship between two giant Theravada Buddhist countries - Myanmar and Sri Lanka.
ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ මහාචාර්ය පුජ්‍ය ගල්ලෑල්ලේ සුමනසිරි හිමියෝ අග්ගමහාසද්ධම්මජෝතිකධජ උපාධියෙන් පිදුම් ලබති.
බෞද්ධ අධ්‍යයන පිඨයේ , සමය අධ්‍යයන හා තුලනාත්මක දර්ශනය අධ්‍යයනාංශයේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ මහාචාර්ය සහ ශ්‍රී ලංකා බෞද්ධ හා පාලි විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ හිටපු මහෝපාධ්‍යාය, පුජ්‍ය ගල්ලෑල්ලේ සුමනසිරි හිමියන් මියන්මාර රජයෙන් පිරිනමනු ලබන අග්ගමහාසද්ධම්මජෝතිකධජ නමැති ගෞරව උපාධියෙන් පිදුම් ලැබූ බව විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය සාඩම්බරව නිවේදනය කර සිටී. මෙම ගෞරව උපාධිය උන් වහන්සේ විසින් කරන ලද සේවය අගය කරමින් මියන්මාරයේ සීතාගු සයදව්ගීගේ නිර්දේශය මත ප්‍රදානය කොට තිබේ. ශ්‍රී ලංකාව සහ මියන්මාරය අතර පවතින අන්තර් සංස්කෘතික හා ආගමික සම්බන්ධතාවය තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කිරීමට ශ්‍රී ලාංකික විද්වත් බෞද්ධ භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලාට මෙම ගෞරව උපාධිය පිරිනමනු ලැබේ.
