International Conference on Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Research 2023 (ICPIR 2023): Uniting Diverse Academic Disciplines
The International Conference on Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Research 2023 (ICPIR 2023) was held on July 15th at the Main Auditorium of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka. Organized by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the conference aimed to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange among scholars from various academic disciplines, making it a significant event in the academic community.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Praneeth Abeysundara from the Department of Anthropology at the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, who shared valuable insights and inspired the attendees. The conference also welcomed His Excellency Jean-François Pactet, the Ambassador of France for Sri Lanka and Maldives, as the guest of honor, adding an international dimension to the event.
ICPIR 2023 covered a wide range of disciplines, including Buddhism, Pali, Sanskrit, Archeology, Linguistics, Education, English, Tamil, Hindi, Chinese, and Japanese. This diverse scope promised a vibrant exchange of innovative findings, cutting-edge research, and academic experiences, highlighting the depth of academic pursuits in Sri Lanka.
The central theme of the conference was "interdisciplinary research," emphasizing its goal of enhancing the research capabilities and innovative skills of postgraduate students at the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka. Notably, the conference welcomed postgraduate students from all around the world, regardless of their affiliation with the university. It is expected to establish this conference as an annual tradition under the same name, solidifying the reputation of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka as a leading institution in the academic community.
