English Teaching Workshop at Sri Sadananda Maha Pirivena, Lewangama
The Department of English organized an English Teaching Workshop at the Sri Sadananda Maha Pirivena in Lewangama on October 27, 2023, from 8 am to 12 pm. Thirty-one First Year students, all of whom are pursuing their degrees in English medium joined the workshop with the lecturers of the Department of English, including Dr. Waruni Tennakoon (Head/Senior Lecturer), Dr. Nipunika Dilani (Senior Lecturer), and Ms. Binuri Ruwanpura (Visiting Lecturer). The purpose of the workshop was to teach selected English lessons to Pirivena students across Primary and Advanced Level classes, with the primary objective of enhancing the teaching skills of our undergraduates while also motivating Pirivena students to learn English.
Following the workshop, there was a meditation session and an engaging sightseeing excursion. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Ven. Prof. Lenagala Siriniwasa Thero for the invitation and for arranging meals for the participants. We would also like to extend our thanks to everyone involved in organizing the workshop, including the Most Venerable Vice Chancellor Thero, for their valuable support in ensuring the success of this workshop.
