The university was closed unexpectedly due to the prevailing health crisis in the country and the reopening date is not yet confirmed. The students are the most affected group of this situation and the university authorities are thinking of ways and means to overcome challenges faced by all bodies of the university.
We already introduced Google Classroom System and developed E-Learning amidst the shortage of facilities. Most of the academic staff members work with online education system enthusiastically to support students and most of the students are also getting used to it. We are aware that the students encounter problems with the new system. However, if the students are not ready face the challenge and overcome it, they will have to face many more inconveniences in the future. Therefore, we all have to face the challenge collectively.
We were fortunate to complete the lectures of 12 weeks out of 15. Under this situation we can think of two options.
1. Conduct exams immediately after reopening the university. The Examination would be conducted year by year without offering a period of study leave for the students. The students have to get prepared for examination at Home/ Temple. The final year examination will be held first and then 2nd year and 1st year respectively.
2. Evaluate the students by assignments instead of an examination. An assignment will be given to each paper and it should be written at Home/ Temple within a limited period of time.
These two options are to be forwarded to the next senate meeting which will be held online within few days.

සියලුම අභ්යන්තර සිසුන් හා කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සඳහා කෙරෙන නිවේදනය යි
රට තුළ උද්ගත වූ අපදා තත්වය යටතේ බලාපොරොත්තු නොවූ අයුරින් මාර්තු මස තුළ දී විශ්වවිද්යාලය වසා දැමීමට සිදු වූ අතර නැවත ආරම්භ කළ හැකි දිනය පිළිබඳ අනුමාන කළ නොහැකි වෙයි. මෙම තත්වය හමුවේ ශිෂ්යයන් දැඩි අපහසුතාවයකට පත්ව ඇති අතර එම තත්වයන්ගෙන් සිසුන් අතමිදවීීම සඳහා උපාය මාර්ගයන් සැළසුම් කරමින් පවතින බව දැනුම් දෙනු කැමැත්තෙමි. මෙම අභියෝගයට සාර්ථකව මුහුන දීමට අප සියලු දෙනා පෙළ ගැසිය යුතු වෙයි.
මෙම තත්වයට මුහුන දීම සඳහා මේවන විට E-Learning ක්රමය අපහසුතා මධ්යයේ වුව හඳුන්වා දෙනු ලැබ ඇත. ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අධ්යයන කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයේ බොහෝ දෙනා උනන්දුවෙන් කටයුතු කරන අතර ශිෂ්යයන් ද ඒ හා සම්බන්ධව කටයුතු කරනු දැක්ම සතුටට කරුණකි. මෙම නව ක්රමයෙහි ගැටලු බොහෝමයක් පවතින බව දන්නේ නමදු කෙසේ හෝ මෙම අභියෝගයට සාර්ථකව මුහුණ නොදුනහොත් එහි පාඩුව විඳීමට සිදුවන්නේ ද ශිෂ්යන්ටම වන බැවින් අපහසුතා මධ්යයේ වුවද මෙම අභියෝගයට සාමූහිකව මුහුන දීමට අදිටන් කළ යුතු වෙයි.
වාසනාවකට මෙන් සමාසකයට අයත් සති 15 වෙන් සති 12ක දේශන අවසන් කර තිඛිම නිසා තීරණ දෙකකින් එක් තීරණයක් ගැන සිතා බැලිය හැකිය.
1 විශ්වවිද්යාලය නැවත ආරම්භ කළ සැනින් විභාග ආරම්භ කිරීම හා විභාගය අවසන් වූ සැනින් දෙවන සමාසිකය ආරම්භ කිරීම. එම තීරණය යටතේ අධ්යයන නිවාඩු ලබා දීමක් සිදු නොවන අතර වසරින් වසර නියමිත විභාග අවසන් කිරීමට අපේක්ෂිතය ඒ සඳහා ඔබ විහාරස්ථානයේ /නිවසේ රැඳී සිටින කාලය තුළ විභාග සඳහා සූදානම් විය යුතු වෙයි. පළමුවෙන් අවසන් වසරේ විභාග ඉන් පසුව 2 හා 1 වසර සිසුන්ගේ විභාග ද පිළිවෙළින් පැවැත්වීමට හැකි වෙයි.
2 විභාගය වෙනුවට විෂය පත්ර ආවරණය වන පරිදි සැම විෂය පත්රයකටම නිර්දේශිත මාතෘකාවන් යටතේ ස්වාධීන නිබන්ධයක් නිශ්චිත කාල රාමුවක් තුළ ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට සැළැස්වීම.
මෙකී යොජනාවන් එළබෙන සනාතන සභාවට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට අපේක්ෂ කරන අතර ඔබගේ යොජනා හා අදහස් නොපමාව මා වෙත යන ass@bpu.ac.lk ඊ-මේල් ලිපිනය මගින් ලබාදෙන ලෙස විශ්වවිද්යාලීය අදාළ සියලුම පාර්ශවයන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටිමි.
