University Day Celebration of Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka (BPUDU) - 2026
The Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka (BPUDU) marked its 44th anniversary with a vibrant University Day celebration held on February 20, 2026, within the university premises. This milestone was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Madhura Seneviratne, who served as the special guest, and Professor Emeritus Asanga Tilakaratne, who delivered the event’s commemorative guest lecture.
Special Activities and Programs In conjunction with the anniversary, the following activities were successfully conducted:
- Beautification of the university entrance road by planting flowers.
- Book exhibition and sale.
- Language Day performing arts program by the Faculty of Language Studies.
- Appreciation of student skills, research skills of the academic staff, and retired staff members.
- "Geerasa Vindana" program, showcasing the performing talents of academic, non-academic staff and students.
- Food exhibition featuring cuisines unique to various countries.
- Bodhi Puja and outdoor commemorative benedictory Pirith ceremony.
