Korean Cultural Day at Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka: A Celebration of Cultural Exchange
The Korean Cultural Day organized by the Department of Language Skills Development took place on the 15th of October 2024 at the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka. The event featured captivating Korean cultural performances, as well as stalls offering Korean food and souvenirs. In connection with the festival, an art competition was held for the university's internal students, while school students had the opportunity to take part in both an art competition and a dance competition. The winners were presented with certificates and gifts by the Venerable Vice Chancellor of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, Ven. Prof. Neluwe Sumanawansa Thero, and Her Excellency Ms. Miyon Lee, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka.
Her Excellency Ms. Miyon Lee, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka, attended the event as the chief guest, accompanied by Ms. Soojung Lee, the 3rd Secretary. Their presence lent special significance to the occasion, underscoring the deep cultural and educational ties between Sri Lanka and Korea. Numerous other distinguished guests, including academic and non-academic staff, school teachers, university and school students, parents, and many more participants, also took part in this vibrant cultural celebration.
